Collect and return physical rental items with codes
Who and before: The correct owner and renter at the actual handover for a booking using physical handover.
Start: Booking details > pickup/return confirmation section.
Steps:
1. Renter: inspect the item and condition before displaying the appropriate pickup code. Use Generate/Refresh if the screen requests a current code.
2. Owner: choose Open Camera to Scan, allow camera access and scan the renter's code only at the real pickup. Read the confirmation result.
3. At return, renter records required condition evidence and shows the return code. Owner checks the returned item and scans the return code.
4. If camera scanning fails, use Take Photo of QR or Enter code manually when offered. Enter the current displayed code and submit.
5. Both parties reopen the booking to confirm pickup/return state and any separate settlement result.
Result and check: The real handover is recorded, not merely a QR image displayed.
Limits and recovery: Do not share codes before inspection/handover. Capturing a photo or copying a code does not complete confirmation. An expired/wrong-role code needs the correct current booking flow. Report mismatches rather than inventing attendance. Homes/services may use different lifecycle controls.
