Understand deposits, authorizations and protection

Life4Rent Protect is a discretionary protection program, not an insurance policy. Payment handling, handoff records and dispute support do not guarantee safety or reimbursement. Any reimbursement is considered after successful resolution of the relevant dispute and requires separate discretionary approval under the applicable plan, including its limits, exclusions, evidence requirements and quoted fee. A favourable dispute outcome is not itself a promise of payment.

Life4Rent Protect is not an insurance policy; reimbursement is discretionary. The current optional rental-protection calculation charges 3% of the rental amount used for the booking. Under the approved USD-base policy, premium-category fees use the item's declared USD value: below 2500, USD 25; from 2500 to below 10000, USD 60; from 10000 to below 25000, USD 120; and from 25000, 1% of declared value capped at USD 400. Check the actual booking quote for the applicable plan, converted currency and charged amount. These are fee calculations, not reimbursement limits; USD 400 is a fee cap, not a promised reimbursement.

Life4Rent Protect is not an insurance policy. Under the approved policy, reimbursement cannot exceed the item's value or the applicable limit, whichever is lower: USD 2500 for standard protection and USD 3000 for premium protection. USD is the base currency; amounts in other currencies are converted against these USD limits. Available Protection Pool funds, applicable exclusions and separate discretionary approval apply. Reimbursement is considered only after successful resolution of the relevant dispute. Neither the fee nor a favourable dispute outcome guarantees payment.

Who and before: Rental participants reviewing their actual booking and provider record.
Start: Booking details and the payment breakdown.
Steps:
1. Read separate rental, deposit/hold and protection lines. Distinguish an authorization/hold from money captured.
2. For optional protection, review the offered coverage/terms before selecting it; use Claims Center only for eligible covered bookings.
3. Complete the real handover/return or category-specific lifecycle, and check the booking's deposit/settlement status afterward.
4. If an eligible Release action is displayed, read its confirmation carefully before using it; it can affect funds, not just hide a card.
Result and check: The relevant status identifies authorization, release, capture, pending work or a problem; compare with the provider's record where needed.
Limits and recovery: No universal release/refund timing is promised. Owner declarations, app labels or a completed rental do not by themselves prove provider settlement. Missing historical deposits are not permission for a new charge. Report a mismatch to support; Leo cannot release holds, issue refunds or move funds.

Review the payment breakdown to distinguish between deposits, authorizations, and captured funds. Optional protection should be reviewed before selection; use the Claims Center for eligible issues only. No universal refund timing is promised, and completion of a rental does not guarantee settlement. Report any discrepancies to support; the automated system cannot manually release holds.
